Tricia Matthews - Lois Lame
Interesting factoid: When we first met Tricia Matthews, she was determined to be an actress. Come to think of it, maybe that's not so interesting. Lots of young women dream of being an actress.

Amazing factoid: A few years later, after all the trials and tribulations of making Superbman were through, Tricia Matthews was STILL determined to be an actress! That fact alone is probably one of the best predictors for the fact that now, nearly 28 years after Superbman writer John Ginn first discovered her working the perfume counter at a long defunct department store, Tricia Matthews is one of the rarest of earth's creatures — a full-time working professional actress. That's right, she's still at it.

Not that we're trying to take any of the credit for that fact. Throughout production, Tricia's dedication to her craft was obvious. Between Superbman shoots, she earned a bachelors in Theater Arts and California State University, Fullerton, worked full-time at Knott's Berry Farm's Bird Cage Theater, starred in several productions at the college, and performed in outdoor dinner theater shows in the summer.

A good example of Superbman craziness might be her performing one night in The Glass Menagerie and her subsequent early morning near kidnapping by John so that we could take her out to a remote location to fling pies at her. Wet gloppy sticky pies. Let it be repeated, she remains an actress to this day.

Following her graduation from college, Tricia has worked almost constantly as an actress, a career choice far broader and usually far less glamorous than what might first come to mind to most people. She has worked in traveling children's shows for school assemblies, summer stock, repertory, TV commercials and guest spots, industrial films and even co-starred in an unreleased film with Morgan Fairchild. Throughout her career, just as she had demonstrated with Superbman, her solid professionalism has taken her to the stages of many prestigious theaters, including Orange County California's South Coast Repertory, and has found her traveling around the world with touring companies.

She currently spends much of her time doing six to seven shows a year as an actor and director at Virginia's famed Barter Theater.
